A display that shows the grains
Every grain the engine plays appears as a glowing read head on a tape loop, with its pitch and direction.

Is Texture really free?
Yes. Enter your email on the account page and we send you a link. You can download Texture for Mac, Windows and Linux there, now and for every update.
Which systems and Rack versions?
VCV Rack 2, Free or Pro, on Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows x64 and Linux x64.
How do I install it?
Close Rack, put the .vcvplugin file into Rack's plugins folder (in Rack: Help → Open user folder) and start Rack again. For an update, delete the old ThoowTexture folder first.
Is this Beads?
Texture runs the open-source Beads engine by Emilie Gillet (MIT license) and adds its own display, presets and options. It is not a product of Mutable Instruments.
What happens without an input?
Ten seconds after you unplug the input, Texture becomes a wavetable synth: V/OCT plays it, the grain controls shape the sound.
Stereo or mono?
Stereo in and out. Patch only the left input and it feeds both sides. Without a cable in the right output, both sides are mixed to the left.
It is a beta. What if something goes wrong?
Please tell us on the feedback page. If Rack crashes, attach the log.txt from Rack's user folder, it helps us a lot.
