Texture.
The open-source Beads engine by Emilie Gillet, the granular processor many know from Eurorack, now as a free plugin with its own display. Drop it on any track, turn the sound into grains, clouds and frozen loops, and watch every grain while you play.
You can see the grains
Every grain appears as a glowing read head on a tape loop: height is pitch, a ring means backwards. Turn SIZE or SHAPE and the display draws the grain itself.
Random pitch, in key
Right-click RND PITCH and let the grains scatter over octaves, fifths or a scale instead of every pitch. Shimmer that stays musical.
Four qualities
Clean, 12 bit, tape and worn, from pristine to dusty. The latency is reported to your DAW, so the dry signal stays in time.
Eight presets
Cloud, Haze, Frozen Pad, Dust and more. The knobs turn with the preset, and every control can be automated.
