Dub techno lives from conversation: a chord stab calls, an echo of it answers two beats later, the bass leans into the gaps. Dialoque writes that conversation for you, over a chord progression, and lets it evolve while you play. It plays your favourite instruments and effects: any synth, any plugin, any chain on any track. The call
A 16 or 32 step grid with eight rhythms from Pure and Skank to Ghost and Stab. Click a step for on, again for accent. Density, Shift, Swing and Dub turn one pattern into many.
The answer
Six ways to answer: Echo, Shadow, Complement, Resolve, Reverse or something New. Delay it by a sixteenth up to a bar, drop it an octave, change its velocity and length.
Four forms
Call | Answer, Call Call | Answer, Overlap or Gaps, turning every half bar up to every four bars. With Give way the answer waits until the call is done.
Chords that move
Eight progressions or your own, eight steps long, from a fifth up to thirteenth chords with voicings. Or follow the scale of your Live set with one click.
Answer on another track
Thoow Dialoque Receive plays the answer on any other track and instrument, over four buses. Throw sends CC 20 with every answer, ready to open an echo.
A bass that listens
Thoow Dialoque Bass plays the root on its own track: offbeat, push, dub, root or drone, with approach notes. It can lock to the call, fill the gaps or play only on the turns.

What do I need?
Ableton Live 12 with Max for Live: Live 12 Suite, or Live 12 Standard with the Max for Live add-on. Mac and Windows.
How do I set it up?
Put Thoow Dialoque in front of a chord instrument: that is the call. Set Answer to Bus A and put Thoow Dialoque Receive on a second track with another instrument: that is the answer. Thoow Dialoque Bass on a third track plays the bass. Press play.
Which instruments work?
Any instrument that plays MIDI: Operator, Analog, Drift, Wavetable, or your plugins. For dub techno try a short chord stab for the call and something softer with a long echo for the answer.
Can I keep the MIDI?
Yes, anytime. Dialoque sends plain MIDI, so you can record it like any other part: create a MIDI track, set MIDI From to the Dialoque track (or a Receive track) and its Thoow device, arm it and record. You get a regular MIDI clip to edit, loop or drag into another project.
Do I need all three devices?
No. Dialoque alone plays call and answer on one track. Receive and Bass are included and spread the conversation over more instruments.
Can I automate everything?
Yes. Every control is a Live parameter: automate it, map it to a controller or let Thoow Motion move it.
